THE HISTORIC COCOA VILLAGE PLAYHOUSE TO PERFORM “BIG RIVER: THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN”
“Big River expected to be popular with Central Florida residents”
Brevard County, FL (Sharewellnewswire.com) April 1, 2013 - The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse will perform ‘Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” beginning Friday, April 26, through Sunday, May 12, 2013.
The performance, adapted from the novel by Mark Twain, tells the story of Huckleberry Finn helping his friend Jim, a slave, escape to freedom by travel on the mighty Mississippi river.
Their adventures along the way are hilarious, suspenseful and heartwarming, bringing to life the favorite characters from the novel: the Widow Douglas and her stern sister, Miss Watson; the uproarious King and Duke, who may or may not be as harmless as they seem; Huck's partner in crime, Tom Sawyer, and their rowdy gang of pals; Huck's drunken father, the sinister Pap Finn; the lovely Mary Jane Wilkes, and her trusting family.
